Hilton bestows Diamond status on Grammy presenters, performers

MCLEAN, VIRGNIA Hilton Worldwide is granting Diamond Elite status in its Hilton HHonors loyalty program, along with 50,000 HHonors bonus poins, to presenters and performers of the Grammy Awards. Hilton is in its 23rd year as official hotel of the music industry’s most prominent awards show.

“Hilton is very proud of its long-standing partnership with The Recording Academy and the significant role we’ve been able to play in celebrating one of the most exciting global entertainment events of the year,” says Dave Horton, global head of Hilton Hotels & Resorts. “We continue to recognize music’s impact on the world, and we are excited not only to help raise money for fantastic causes, but also to offer our most loyal guests and Hilton team members a chance to experience music’s biggest night firsthand.”

Hilton Hotels & Resorts has made a variety of prize packages available to HHonors members. By bidding more than 1 million HHonors points online using their HHonors points as currency, the two highest-winning bidders each received a Hilton Grammy package. HHonors points from the winning bids will be converted into a cash donation to benefit the Grammy Foundation, a nonprofit organization that focuses on educational and public programs to celebrate the power of music. In addition to round-trip airfare and accommodations at The Beverly Hilton, Grammy prize packages grant each winner exclusive access to the show and the official after-party.

Hilton Hotels is also providing travel packages for the MusiCares Person of the Year Tribute silent and live auctions, proceeds from which will provide a safety net for musicians in times of need. In Europe, Hilton in the Community Foundation, a charitable trust supporting young people worldwide, raised £17,000 by auctioning a Hilton trip to this year’s Grammy Awards.

Hilton Hotels also urged its employees around the world to participate in its second annual Hilton Rock Star Team Member contest, in which employees submit photos, video and stories depicting the impact of music on their lives. Four employees have been selected to receive VIP treatment, including roundtrip airfare for two to Los Angeles to see the show and attend the after-party.

The brand is featuring limited-edition Grammy keycards at The Beverly Hilton, Hilton Checkers Los Angeles and Hilton Los Angeles/Universal City. Additionally, 23 Hilton hotels in Asia and in major markets in the United States will provide guests with Grammyy viewer guides and copies of the 2011 Grammy Nominees CDs.

The 53rd Annual Grammy Awards will be held February 13 at Staples Center in Los Angeles and will be broadcast on CBS from 8 to 11:30 p.m. Eastern time.
