Boca Beach Club, a Waldorf Astoria resort in Boca Raton, Florida, has hired Randy Lowe — also known as “Randy the Kiteman” — to serve as the property’s “Kite Concierge.”
Lowe will spearhead the resort’s new beachfront kite-flying program for guests. As part of Boca Beach Club’s new weekend seasonal guest programming, Lowe will help select specialty Show kites from New Zealand based on wind conditions, the age and experience level of guests and other factors. The resort also plans to use Lowe’s services for weddings and large group functions.
Lowe, a former math teacher, discovered his love of kites on a beach in New Hampshire and has invested more than US$100,000 in kites, most from New Zealand.
