Firmdale gets financing for new London hotel

U.K. luxury boutique hotel company Firmdale Hotels has received £188 million (US$292 million) in financing from Barclays Corp. to fund a new London hotel.

The new-build, 92-room Ham Yard in London’s Soho neighborhood is planned to open in 2013. It will be a mixed-use development, including residential apartments, a cinema, bowling alley and retail.

Firmdale, founded and operated by husband-and-wife team Tim and Kit Kemp, currently manages seven hotels, six in London and one in New York City.
