Fire guts Sheraton Shenyang Lido Hotel

SHENYANG, CHINA A major hotel fire in Shenyang on Thursday heavily damaged the 5-star Dynasty Wanxin Hotel. No casualties were reported.

A previous version of this article incorrectly stated that the adjacent Sheraton Shenyang Lido Hotel had been the primary site of the blaze, but a hotel spokesman tells HOTELS that the property in fact went unscathed. The Sheraton remains fully operational.

The fire broke out just after midnight Thursday at an adjacent apartment building and quickly spread to Dynasty Wanxin. The blaze lasted for about four hours before being controlled. The full extent of the damage is not yet known, but reports from the scene describe the building as “gutted.”
