Dallas’ Warwick Melrose Hotel to double meeting space, may add spa

DALLAS Warwick International Hotels has purchased 30,000 sq. ft. of land adjacent to its landmark Warwick Melrose Hotel in Dallas, on which it plans to build a ballroom, spa and swimming pool.

Plans for the land have not yet been finalized, and would require approvals from the city. Tentatively, though, the major expansion is to entail construction of a pillar-less ballroom, complemented by additional meeting and conference space in a nearby building. The additions would more than double the present 7,000 sq. ft. of meeting and event space at the 87-year-old hotel. Construction of a spa and a swimming pool is also under consideration.

“We are proud to be part of this multi-cultural and diverse area of Dallas, and to be able to serve the city with more capacity for larger functions than those we can currently host,” says Warwick International President Richard Chiu. “The new facilities will also allow us to extend the same atmosphere and gracious service that have already made the Warwick Melrose one of the most sought-after hotels in North Texas.”

Warwick International purchased the Melrose in 2007. Since 2008, the company has invested millions of dollars in upgrading facilities, including a complete renovation and refurbishment of the entire inventory of guestrooms and suites.
