Briefs: Remington Hotels rebrands; Corinthia to operate Maldives resort

REMINGTON HOTEL REBRANDS: Hotel management company Remington Hotels has rebranded to Remington Hospitality. According to the company, the new name better reflects its extended hospitality offerings and the organization’s future direction. The company’s new focus areas include classic brand accommodations, independent properties, F&B, spa and wellness, glamping and non-traditional projects. With more than 50 years of experience, Remington launched its Brand Performance team in 2021. The company’s primary logo will remain unchanged. Remington’s website and social media accounts have been updated to reflect the change.

CORINTHIA TO OPERATE RESORT IN THE MALDIVES: Corinthia Hotels has signed a hotel management agreement to operate a luxury resort in the Maldives in Q4 2025. The resort’s developer is Maarah Pvt. Ltd., a Maldivian entity affiliated with the U.A.E.-based Maarah Holdings Ltd. Early works on reclamation and the first phase of the resort’s development are underway. Located on Kaafu Atoll, Corinthia Maldives will feature two islands with a 73-key resort on the bigger island and a second, smaller private island for exclusive use. The resort will include architecture designed by global firm HKS, with RLB Hoolooman as project managers. It will have five restaurants, several fitness areas and wellness facilities.

PACIFICA HOTELS ACQUIRES KIMPTON HOTEL VINTAGE SEATTLE: Pacifica Hotels has acquired the Kimpton Hotel Vintage Seattle for $33.7 million. Located in downtown Seattle, the 125-room boutique hotel was sold by Pebblebrook Hotel Trust. The purchase of the hotel includes the acquisition of the Hotel Vintage brand. Pacifica Hotels will undertake a renovation of all the rooms, restaurant and lobby. The hotel will continue to be operated by Kimpton. The hotel includes 660 square feet of event space, an Italian restaurant, a fitness center and an adjacent parking garage. Founded in 1993, Pacifica Hotels’ portfolio currently comprises 40 independent and flagged properties across California, Oregon and Hawaii.

ANANTARA OPENS IN AMALFI COAST: Anantara has announced the opening of Anantara Convento di Amalfi Grand Hotel in Italy’s Amalfi Coast, following extensive renovations of a 13th-century cliffside Capuchin convent. The restoration of the 800-year-old building preserves the historic features, including ornate cloisters and an on-site Baroque church with a marble altar and Majolica floor. The hotel comprises 52 rooms and suites, many of which were first built as monks’ quarters. The hotel includes a spa with three treatment rooms, a fitness center, a newly refurbished cliffside swimming pool, several dining options and a wedding chapel. Anantara Convento di Amalfi Grand Hotel is Anantara’s second property in Italy and the brand’s eighth in Europe.

KIMPTON’S THIRD HOTEL IN SPAIN: IHG Hotels & Resorts has signed Kimpton Los Monteros Marbella, marking the third signing in Spain for the Luxury & Lifestyle brand. Located at the foothills of the Sierra Blanca mountain range between Malaga and the Strait of Gibraltar, the former Hotel Los Monteros — Spa & Golf Resort Marbella will undergo a whole refurbishment to open under its new name. The hotel has been closed since late 2022. The 178-key hotel will be operated by IHG under a hotel management agreement with Monterotel SL, owned by JV of Bain Capital & Stoneweg. The hotel will offer four restaurants and bars, two pools, a gym, tennis courts, a spa and four main meeting areas totaling 1,260 square meters. Presently, there are 75 Kimpton hotels globally with 43 more in the pipeline. IHG has 46 operating hotels under eight brands in Spain and an additional 13 properties in the pipeline.
