PLANNING APPROVAL FOR MIXED-USE LONDON HOTEL: PPHE Hotel Group, the international hospitality real estate group, has received the planning permission for a mixed-use hotel-led project in London. PPHE had proposed to bring a 15-story, design-led mid-scale hotel in central London’s South Bank area. The hotel will have up to 186 rooms and two floors of office and light industrial floorspace, along with public space on the ground floor with an all-day dining bar and café. With an eye on sustainability, the former brownfield site would be converted into a building targeting a BREEAM ‘Excellent’ accreditation. It will be PPHE’s fifth hotel in the Waterloo area. PPHE acquired the site in 2019 for £12 million. The company is currently working on detailed designs for the project.
