CURATOR GROWS BY EIGHT: Curator Hotel & Resort Collection, a collection of small brands and independent lifestyle properties founded by Pebblebrook Hotel Trust, has added eight hotels, expanding its footprint in California and Florida and adding its first property in North Dakota. The newly added hotels include The Olive Ann in Grand Forks, N.D.; Creekside Inn in Palo Alto, Calif.; Hotel Los Gatos in Los Gatos, Calif.; Hotel Griffon, King George Hotel and Inn at Union Square in San Francisco, Calif.; and Eden Roc Miami Beach and Nobu Hotel Miami Beach in Miami Beach, Fla. With these additions, Curator now has 96 properties across 48 destinations. These eight properties will have immediate access to proprietary tools, such as Curator’s contract management and expense benchmarking platforms and the opportunity.
GREECE’S WHITE COAST POOL SUITES SELLS : Invel Real Estate and Prodea Investments have acquired White Coast Pool Suites, a luxury hotel on the Greek island of Milos. Prodea Investments will own 49%, while Invel Real Estate will own the remaining percentage via its discretionary fund, Invel Eudora Fund 1LP. The hotel comprises 30 suites, each offering a private pool and sea views. The new owners say they will invest capital to expand the property. The hotel, which is currently part of Small Luxury Hotels of the World, will be operated by Domes Resorts.
THE VINOY UNVEILS REDESIGNED BALLROOM: The Vinoy St. Petersburg Resort & Golf Club in St. Pete, Fla., opened the fully redesigned Palm Court Ballroom and Vinoy Grand Ballroom in December 2022, as part of the property’s renovation plan. The upgrades include the resort’s veranda, porte cochère, main lobby, guest rooms, spa, and restaurants. The renovations are also part of the property’s upcoming rebranding as a Marriott Autograph Collection Hotel. The 361-room hotel was earlier affiliated with the Renaissance brand, another Marriott brand. The resort includes more than 40,000 square feet of indoor/outdoor event space, a 5,000-square-foot fitness center and spa, a 72-slip marina, several bars and restaurants and a 10-court tennis center. The hotel also operates an 18-hole golf course on Snell Isle.
MIDAS ADDS TO PORTFOLIO: St. Louis-based Midas Enterprises, through its hospitality division Midas Hospitality, has been named as the management company for the 146-room Courtyard by Marriott Dallas Northwest. The hotel maintains an outdoor pool, 1,500-square-foot meeting space and a restaurant. Midas has appointed Scott Leavell as the hotel’s general manager. This is Midas’ third hotel in Texas.
SHATTERPROOF TO HONOR HILTON CEO AT ALIS: Shatterproof, the Norwalk, Conn.-based nonprofit organization, will host its fifth annual Hospitality Heroes Reception at the Americas Lodging Investment Summit (ALIS) on January 24 in Los Angeles. The reception will honor Hilton President and CEO Chris Nassetta. The event raises funds to support Shatterproof’s efforts to change how addiction is treated in the U.S. Hilton and 70 other hospitality companies joined in 2021 to sponsor the event in support of Shatterproof and its CEO and founder, Gary Mendell, a former hotelier and former chairman of HEI Hotels & Resorts. The event raised more than $1 million to drive solutions to addiction and the public health crisis in the U.S.
