Bellagio hotel sues mattress maker over trademark

LAS VEGAS Bellagio is suing an Italian mattress maker for trademark infringement, protesting a mattress being sold under the brand name Bellagio.

The MGM Resorts International property says the mattress line from Magniflex violates its trademark. The hotel sells its own mattresses, which are manufactured by Serta, through its retail store and website.

In its lawsuit, Bellagio says it is in the process of licensing its trademark for mattresses that would be sold in third-party retail locations across the United States.

Magniflex debuted its Bellagio mattress in April and has been selling the mattress to hotels, according to the lawsuit.
