Bajaj Group to expand Le Sutra art hotels brand across India

MUMBAI The Bajaj Group of Hotels, which owns a Mumbai art hotel called Le Sutra, is planning to turn the boutique concept into a chain across India.

Bajaj is planning to invest up to 5 billion rupees (US$113 million) to open restaurants and hotels across India over the next three to five years. The properties will be a mix of franchised and owned.

The second Le Sutra hotel is slated to open in Dehradun in 2012, with a third art boutique hotel expected to open in Goa under franchise. Those hotels would have 114 and 80 guestrooms, respectively. The company also aims to launch five Indian Art Café restaurants in major India cities under a South Indian bistro theme.

Along with Le Sutra, Bajaj Group also operates the 34-key Palm Beach Hotel in Visakhapatnam.
