Aspen resort takes farm-to-table movement to the spa

Remède Spa at The St. Regis Aspen Resort in Aspen, Colorado, has introduced a menu that marries the farm-to-table movement with the health and wellness benefits of the spa.

The Remède “Farm-to-Massage Table” experience pairs spa treatments with a tasting menu that uses the same aromas, textures and flavors to stimulate the senses, so the body is feeling the same ingredients the mouth is tasting. Spa Director Julie Oliff and Executive Chef Thomas Riordan collaborated to create a five-course treatment and tasting menu using ingredients from local growers that will change based on freshness and availability. Examples include a savory salt glow scrub paired with an appetizer such as chilled cucumber consommé in a shot glass with mint “caviar” garnish, as well as a whipped body butter application paired with a glass of champagne and a dessert such as almond biscotti dipped in dark chocolate and topped with almond mousse.

“Our belief is that wellness comes as much from the inside out as the outside in,” Oliff said. “The Farm-To-Massage-Table concept enables guests to treat their bodies like their palates and vice versa, creating a synergistic experience like no other.”
