AMELIA ISLAND, FLORIDA The luxury Amelia Island Plantation resort, one of Florida’s most famous golf destinations, will go to bankruptcy auction on August 23.
Noble Hospitality Fund Acquisitions LLC has emerged as the stalking-horse bidder for the 249-key property, with an offer of US$47.4 million, according to auction firm The Plasencia Group. The resort, located 30 miles northeast of Jacksonville, cited the weak economy in its November bankruptcy filing.
