Accor in talks to sell Lucien Barrière stake

PARIS Accor is in talks to sell its 49% stake in casino group Lucien Barrière Hôtels et Casinos to France-based financial holding company Fimalac.

“Accor confirms the existence of talks with Fimalac and Groupe Lucien Barrière about the possible disposal of its 49% stake in Groupe Lucien Barrière,” the company says in a statement.

Accor is selling the stake because it no longer considers Barrière to be a strategic asset. Proceeds from the sale would be used for debt reduction.

Barrière’s portfolio includes 14 hotels in France and one in Marrakech, totaling more than 2,000 guestrooms.
