The Park Inn by Radisson and Waldorf Astoria brands are set to enter the Netherlands.
The Rezidor Hotel Group, Brussels, announced on Thursday that it will open a 150-room Park Inn by Radisson at Amsterdam Airport Schipol. The hotel investor is Chalet Group, Amsterdam. The building is being converted from an office building in the Schipol-Rijk office park, located 5 km (3.1 miles) from the airport. The hotel is planned to open in the third quarter of 2012.
“Once this hotel is open, Park Inn by Radisson will have a presence at four of the five busiest airports in Europe: London Heathrow, Paris Charles de Gaulle, Frankfurt Rhein-Main and Amsterdam Schipol,” said Kurt Ritter, Rezidor president and CEO.
The announcement came a day after Hilton Worldwide, McLean, Virginia, revealed that it will open a 94-room Waldorf Astoria in central Amsterdam in 2013. The hotel will feature a 500 sq m (5,380 sq ft) health club and spa and 400 sq m (4,305 sq ft) of conference and meeting space. The hotel will be located on Amsterdam’s Herengracht canal.
