People are talking
The new measure of fan engagement, which is displayed publicly on Facebook pages next to the number of ?Likes? a page has, indicates the number of people who have interacted with the page (by commenting or sharing a post, for example) over the course of the past seven days. It?s meant to encourage pages to create genuinely engaging content. By clicking on the ?Insights Tab,? page admins can see how many people have interacted with each specific wall post, providing useful feedback on the types of posts that are proving interesting to fans.
For hotels that have built out a fan base through sweepstakes, contests and Facebook ads, Facebook is throwing down the gauntlet and saying, ?It?s not enough to just accumulate likes.?
Engage your fans with authentic, compelling content. Offer them timely customer service on social platforms. Create special incentives. As Bonnie Raitt sang in the chorus to our song of the day, ?Let?s give them something to talk about.?
