If there’s one takeaway for hotels from the 2018 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, “a mirror is no longer just a mirror.” Innovation of the Year honors were awarded to two mirror companies, thanks to concepts that had attendees stopping for head-to-toe demonstrations.
HiMirror, a technology-driven tool, touts itself as the first in its market to revolutionize daily beauty routines. It allows users to identify their body type as well as measure weight, body mass index, body fat, water level content, muscle mass, bone weight, resting metabolism – and the list goes on and on.
The HiMirror is also deemed groundbreaking because it includes a feature with fitness videos for different body parts. My favorite feature? A 360 analysis of the skin with measuring capabilities which include hydration, pigmentation and more.
Kohler also showed off its mirror story, with its Verdera Voice Lighted Mirror. Like the HiMirror, it’s compatible with Amazon’s Alexa. It allows for music streaming and weather updates, and it does several other tasks without cluttering the counter. It impressively contains a dual-microphone set-up with embedded speakers for stereo sound quality.
No need to continue being your best critic when these new Internet-connected smart mirrors will do it for you! Hotels take note, as the mirror world is definitely in serious change mode.
