Another year is upon us, and for the first time in a long time I’m optimistic about two things:
Keeping it simple. This year especially, I find myself going back to the fundamentals of structure and organization. Looking at my business and every business we impact, I’m asking how we at the core ensure we have the foundation to handle the success ahead in the new year. It’s easy to start every year with the same old resolutions of I want my revenue to grow by “x” number of dollars or percentages, but are you equipped to handle the business you plan to obtain? If not, now is the time to get your ducks in a row.
Positive business outlook: Secondly, the latest forecast from the Global Business Travel Association shows pent-up demand should fuel steadily rising growth rates in business travel spending throughout the year: 2.0% in Q1 and 2.9% in Q2, and then picking up the pace with rates of 6.4% in Q3 and 7.2% in Q4. The numbers present an early indication of greater corporate confidence in the economy. This is great news for restaurants and hotels across the board.
While I’ve spent other years making a long list of things to change or accomplish in the new year, this year I plan to keep it simple and ensure I’m ready to take on the continued growth in our industry.
Here’s to taking it to the next level, one resolution at a time.
