Do you need a weekend to get caught up?

Do you work hard? Are you deserving of a break? Should you be entitled to relax? Are you looking forward to Friday at 6 p.m. not so you can stop working, but perhaps this is the time when others will stop working and the flow of email communications with subside? 

I once heard motivational speaker extraordinaire Tony Robbins was having a very hectic day and had tons of phone calls to make. Instead of stressing over his tasks at hand, he decided nothing was requiring him to make phone calls from his static desk. Instead, he chose to do work from the comforts of his hot tub and relaxed while he finished his calls.

I have a friend who only allows himself to watch the Showtime series “Dexter” when he is exercising on the treadmill. This is his treat, and his addictive vice can only be satisfied when he puts forth his efforts to work out.  

This Friday at 6 p.m., take a deep breath, eat some ice cream, watch a movie, go out with friends and realize that the more balanced you are, the better you will perform at work and at play.
