The only thing constant in life is change, a wizard once told me. Along with exciting interior design transformations at Four Seasons Resort Lâna‘i at Manele Bay, the golf world on the island has seen some updates of late. Along with change comes opportunity.
Our opportunity comes in the way of renaming our course, and creating a new logo to kick off the next chapter of Lanai golf. It’s an interesting process – between the various choices of colors, shapes and words, what is the combination that really evokes your brand essence? And how do you choose the right one? For us, promoting the destination was an integral part of the brief.
The design, the shape of the island, made sense in that regard. Beyond that, it’s a representation of the two different geographies that comprise the island. Mauka (upland/inland) is the natural skyline of Cook pines, towering over rolling upcountry fields while the Omilu, a popular game fish also known as the Bluefin trevally, is Makai (seaside)- together they ultimately speak to the diverse play available on this small island and one great golf experience.
Our newly named Manele Golf Course is succinct and easy to remember. Our aim, along with new amenities and our amazing cliffside holes is to ensure Lanai Golf is hard to forget!
