People on the move: Triumph, Ventana Big Sur

Radisson Hotel Group appointed Jennifer Schneider vice president of revenue optimization in the Americas, tasked with driving the overall revenue optimization strategy in the Americas to increase top-line revenue for the organization. She’ll also play a role in optimizing IDeaS G3 performance across the company’s portfolio of hotels in America.

Prior to joining Radisson Hotel Group, Schneider held a variety of revenue management leadership positions at Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, Hyatt Hotels Corporation, Omni Hotels & Resorts, Grand Hospitality and Hertz. Most recently, she led a team of more than 80 franchise revenue management team members at Wyndham and expanded the company’s revenue management program to serve more than 900 hotels. She also led the development and re-engineering of Wyndham’s revenue tools and technologies for more than 6,000 properties in North America and served as department lead on multiple IT and revenue management projects.

Triumph Hotels made four appointments to its sales and marketing, and on-property teams. Martin Aguilar is director of sales and marketing for The Evelyn Hotel, The Frederick Hotel and The Iroquois Hotel New York, all in New York City. Edward Buzzanco, who has been with the brand since 2015, is corporate director of sales. Glenda Maldonado is general manager of The Frederick Hotel, and Sava Vasiljevic is general manager of The Evelyn Hotel.

Hotel Teatro in Denver named Hannah Anderson marketing manager, Jeff Rose director of operations and Jamie Lemaster catering and conference service manager. Anderson previously served as an event coordinator at Galvanize, while Rose’s prior roles include operations manager at W Hotels in Boston and director of the front office at Canyon Ranch Health Resort and Spa in Lenox, Massachusetts. Lemaster formerly was conference service manager for The Brown Palace Hotel and Spa, also in Denver. 

Grand Residences Riviera Cancun in Cancun, Mexico, named Rafael Borbolla executive chef, responsible for the resort’s three onsite restaurants and special culinary experiences. Borbolla has lived and worked in Mexico’s Puerto Morelos and Riviera Maya for most of his life and career.

Radisson Hotel Group appointed Hannes Bos vice president, commercial, Asia Pacific. Bos formerly was with Wyndham Hotels & Resorts in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, as director of revenue management, Middle East and Africa. He most recently worked for VinGroup, a tourism and hospitality conglomerate in Vietnam.

Cadillac Hotel & Beach Club in Miami Beach, Florida, named Christelle Fourcade director of sales and marketing, and Jacqueline Lejart general manager. Fourcade joined the property from Marriott International, where she was market director of sales, overseeing sales efforts for The Ritz-Carlton, Bal Harbour in Miami, and The Ritz-Carlton, South Beach in Miami Beach, Florida. Lejart most recently was general manager of Kimpton Angler’s Hotel South Beach in Miami Beach.

Benchmark named Olivier Gaupin director of culinary operations, a newly created position. Gaupin, who has 30 years’ experience, previously was corporate chef for Loews Hotels & Co.

Canyon Ranch Wellness Retreat, opening this year in Woodside, California, filled six leadership positions: Debbie Gisonni is general manager, Jennifer Tarkiainen is director of operations, DeAnn Teixeria is director of programming, Isabelle Jackson Nunes is executive chef, Melda Erbatur is sous chef, and Tim De Voe is facilities manager.

Kate Hembree is assistant controller for Stonebridge Companies in Denver. Hembree has spent most of the last 20 years supporting accounting and finance for Hyatt hotels in Denver and Atlanta.

Opening in Philadelphia this July, The Notary Hotel, Autograph Collection, appointed Jim McSwigan general manager. McSwigan previously was general manager at Courtyard Philadelphia Downtown in Philadelphia, and general manager of Atlanta Marriott Perimeter Center in Atlanta.

Spa Fjor at Hotel Viking in Newport, Rhode Island, welcomed Monique Michaud as spa director. Michaud, a New England native, previously oversaw spa operations at The Spa Intercontinental in Boston, and The Beach House Spa in Brewster, Massachusetts.

Sonesta named Jessica Nugent general manager of Sonesta ES Suites Charlotte, North Carolina. She most recently was general manager of the Hyatt Place, also in Charlotte.

Seth Petitt joined Hutton Hotel in Nashville, Tennessee, as executive chef. Petitt departed Sage Restaurant Group where he was executive chef, Urban Farmer, and developed the restaurant’s culinary program through its openings in Denver, Cleveland and Philadelphia.

Kelly Poling was promoted from senior vice president of marketing to chief executive officer at Karisma Hotels & Resorts.

Ventana Big Sur, an Alila Resort in Big Sur, California, named Keith Potter executive chef. Potter departed Chicago where he was chef de cuisine at Cindy’s Restaurant, a rooftop restaurant at the Chicago Athletic Association Hotel.

Union Investment reorganized the management team in the asset management hospitality segment and took on additional staff. Thorsten Purkus is head of the Asset Management Hospitality International team and Yvonne Brabant is head of the Asset Management Germany team. Both report to departmental manager Martin Schaller, who has been in charge of the Asset Management Hospitality segment at Union Investment for five years. Purkus had been in charge of asset management at Munich Hotel Partners and served as managing partner at PVP Hospitality in Zurich, Switzerland. Brabant most recently was a senior professional in the hotel advisory team at Deloitte.

Kristen Romero is general manager for Hampton Inn Denver West Golden in Golden, Colorado. Romero most recently was general manager for the Hampton Inn & Suites Pueblo-Southgate in Pueblo, Colorado.

Emery, an Autograph Collection hotel in Minneapolis, named Kelly Snyder general manager. Snyder joined Emery from LQ Management in Bloomington, Minnesota, where she was general manager.

Monterey Plaza Hotel & Spa in Monterey, California, named Christopher Sommers managing director. Sommers most recently was general manager of K11Artus in Hong Kong.

James Struthers, KSL Resorts’ longtime chief financial officer, was promoted to president of the company.

Wharf Hotels named Adriano Vences general manager of The Murray, Hong Kong, a Niccolo Hotel. Vences joined Wharf Hotels in 2009, and was promoted to general manager of Niccolo Chengdu, Chengdu, China, in 2015.

Ron Warren is general manager of Coast Hilltop Inn in Pullman, Washington. Warren spent the past five years as director of sales at the Coast Wenatchee Center Hotel, Wenatchee, Washington.

Hakkasan Group appointed Andrew Yeo corporate executive chef, responsible for culinary worldwide of the Cantonese brands found within the Asian Luxury collection, including Hakkasan, Yauatcha and Ling Ling. Chen-Wei Chan is executive chef special projects, U.S., responsible for executing the culinary vision within the U.S. Yeo most recently was executive chef of The Miami Beach Edition in Miami Beach, Florida. Chan previously served as executive chef of the Asian Bistro Red 8 in the Wynn Las Vegas.
