Briefs: Lucky Dragon gets lucky | This US$3.6B project gets a hotel

The Lucky Dragon has a new owner: Don Ahern, owner of construction-rental company Ahern Rentals, has purchased the foreclosed Las Vegas hotel and casino for US$36 million. Lucky Dragon closed less than two years after it opened just west of the Las Vegas Strip on Sahara Avenue. Ahern plans to re-name the property and re-open it as a non-gaming hotel, with the casino floor turned into convention space and conference rooms.
