It has been a big week for F&B and chef appointments at resorts in Florida and Hawaiian, and on Nevis. Meanwhile, Auberge Resorts Collection added a vice president of design and construction, while Australia’s TFE Hotels named a new CEO.

Flathead Lake Lodge, Bigfork, Montana, has announced that Chase Averill is the lodge’s new general manager. Averill is the third generation of the family to manage the operations of the ranch since 1945.

Provenance Hotels has appointed executive team members at the Dossier hotel in Portland, Oregon, including Sarah Bohlin, director of sales; Scott Bogucki, director of revenue; Jared Dayton, general manager; and Desmond Jones, controller. Past positions for Jones included, The Montage, Laguna Beach; Kimpton Hotels in Philadelphia; and Fairmont Hotels in Santa Monica, California. Bohlin most recently served as the director of catering at The Nines in Portland. Dayton was most recently the director of revenue at Hyatt Regency Newport Beach, California. And Bogucki has a long track record from well-known brands including Hilton, Omni and Four Seasons.

Associated Luxury Hotels International has added Heather Buss as new vice president of sales for the Mid-Atlantic region of the United States. Prior to joining ALHI, she served as director of global sales at Salamander Hotels & Resorts.

Nobu Hotels has appointed Eric Edmunds as its first MICE global account director. He will work alongside the property sales teams and their respective representation companies, Leading Hotels of the World and Design Hotels. With a career in the MICE industry spanning more than a decade, Eric will oversee the implementation of Nobu Hotels’ core philosophy into events and meeting experiences.

The Hyatt Regency Monterey Hotel & Spa has hired Daniel Elinan as its new executive chef. As executive chef, Elinan successfully opened The Cavalier Hotel, a luxury Autograph by Marriott property with three restaurants in early 2018. Prior stints included executive chef positions at the Hilton Virginia Beach, Omni Shoreham Hotel Washington D.C., Hyatt Key West Resort and Spa and Grand Hyatt San Francisco.

Hotel Lanai, Lanai City, Hawaii, has hired Executive Chef Joel Harrington, who will introduce Sunday brunch service and an all-new dinner menu at the Lanai City Bar & Grille. Harrington has cooked at restaurants throughout the U.S., including Chef Marcus Samuelsson’s Aquavit and Red Rooster Harlem in New York City.

The Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Resort has promoted Dan Herman to executive chef from his previous role as executive sous chef. Chef Herman will oversee all culinary operations of the resort’s 17 food and beverage outlets, banquets and staff of over 200. Herman began his career at the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Resort nearly 20 years ago and has developed multiple training and development programs and was instrumental in creating the resort’s Food & Wine Classic.

Hacienda AltaGracia, an Auberge Resorts Collection property in the Pérez Zeledón mountains of Costa Rica, has announced that Marcela Herrendoerfer has joined as general manager. Herrendoerfer most recently held positions of leadership at Service- und Betriebsgesellschaft Heidehof, part of Bosch Group in Stuttgart, Germany.

Auberge Resorts Collection announced that Ken Ishiguro joined the company as vice president, design and construction. Prior, Ishiguro was executive director, design and technical services, luxury division at AccorHotels, where he was responsible for day-to-day design and construction activities for all renovations, conversions and new projects across North and Central America.

The Hotel Du Pont, Wilmington, Delaware, has named Greg Kavanagh as managing director. Prior, Kavanagh served as vice president of sales and operations with BridgeStreet Global Hospitality, overseeing the launch of the Mode Aparthotel brand.

Invesco Real Estate, the global real estate investment manager, has appointed David Kellett as senior director – head of hotel transactions. Kellett joins IRE from InterContinental Hotels Group, where he held senior roles including head of investor relations and most recently head of development in Europe.

Four Seasons Resort Nevis has named Pasquo King as the new director of food and beverage. A chef with 20 years of international kitchen experience, King most recently served as the executive chef at Four Seasons Resorts Bali, responsible for both Jimbaran Bay and Sayan properties.

Best Western Hotels & Resorts’ board of directors has elected Anthony Klok as board chairman for 2019. A Best Western owner, Klok previously served as vice chairman of the board.

Civana, which is set to complete a roughly US$50 million repositioning in the Scottsdale, Arizona-area with the opening of the spa at Civana, has appointed Maggie Lang as CEO. With 25 years of experience, Lang has worked in hospitality in senior positions for United Airlines and Kimpton Hotels.

Hotel Zoe on San Francisco’s Fisherman’s Wharf has announced that Erika Lenar has been named the director of outlets operation. She will oversee all facets of the food and beverage program. Prior, Lenar was the F&B manager at Hotel Adagio in San Francisco.

Heritage Hotels and Resorts has appointed Chris Paulk as GM of its El Monte Sagrado Resort in Taos, New Mexico. Paulk, a 20-year industry veteran, most recently served as GM at Indian Springs Resort in Napa Valley, California.

Hilton has appointed Jose Pereira as general manager of Embassy Suites Birmingham, Alabama. Pereira joins Hilton from Westin Hotels, where he was the director of operations for the 294-room hotel in the Birmingham area.

CSM Corp. has named Mark Prince as president of the company’s Lodging and Residential Properties divisions. Prince will be responsible for overseeing a portfolio of more than 6,600 hotel rooms and 2,500 residential units under CSM management. Prince comes to CSM after eight years as divisional vice president of operations and COO of Holiday Retirement, the U.S.’s largest independent senior living provider.

Antony Ritch has been named chief executive officer at TFE Hotels in Australia, taking command in February 2019. His previous role was that of executive vice president of Shopping Centres and Venues with Westfield Corp.

Stonebridge Companies, Denver, has named Keno Rodriguez as opening general manager of the Hyatt Place – San Francisco/Downtown. He previously served as the opening general manager of the company’s Homewood Suites by Hilton – Aliso Viejo/Laguna Beach in California. As Rodriguez’s successor, Martha Marquez now serves as the general manager of the Homewood Suites property, having previously served as the opening director of sales for the property. In addition, Vincent Yi has advanced to captain/general manager of the company’s Moxy by Marriott – Seattle Downtown property. He formerly served as the general manager of the Hampton Inn & Suites – Anaheim/Garden Grove. And Ashley Lopez has advanced from assistant general manager to general manager of Stonebridge Companies’ Hampton Inn & Suites – Anaheim/Garden Grove, succeeding Yi in the role.

 

The Sarasota Modern — opening December 11 — has sappointed Jennifer Salhoff as executive chef. She most recently served as executive chef at Le Meridien Hotel in Philadelphia.
The restaurant at Westin Resort & Spa’s Moana Surfrider, Beachhouse at the Moana, is the new home of culinarian Colin Sato. He last worked at Azure Restaurant, the culinary landmark at The Royal Hawaiian, starting in late 2013.

 

Chef Jorge Vasquez has joined DoubleTree By Hilton Los Angeles – Rosemead as the new executive chef. Chef Vasquez has served as chef de cuisine at Orange Hill Restaurant, a fine-dining establishment in Orange, California; and Castaway in Burbank, California.
