This week, Proper Hospitality and Davidson Hotels & Resorts made executive appointments, Hyatt named a CFO and Hard Rock hired a vice president of global corporate responsibility. See who else is moving where in F&B, operations and management.
Atrium Hospitality named Michael Bloom an area general manager in Springfield, Missouri, with responsibility for three hotels. He also will be general manager of the Holiday Inn Express & Suites Springfield. In addition, Christine (Chris) Ruble was named regional director of sales and marketing for the area. She previously was director of sales for the University Plaza Hotel & Convention Center in Springfield.
Hyatt Hotels Corporation named Joan Bottarini, currently senior vice president of finance for the Americas, chief financial officer. Previous CFO Patrick Grismer has resigned to become CFO at Starbucks Corporation.
Outrigger Hotels and Resorts named Ilaine Caravalho general manager of the Outrigger-managed Wyndham Kona Hawaiian Resort and Roland Kam assistant general manager of the Ohana Waikiki East by Outrigger. Previously, Caravalho was assistant general manager and operations administrator at the resort. Kam previously was hospitality service manager for the Anaha residence.
The Westin Nashville promoted Jeff Crabiel to executive assistant manager; previously, he was director of rooms. The hotel also appointed Eric Otero general manager of the L27 Rooftop Lounge. Otero previously worked in New York City’s for establishments including Jazz at Lincoln Center’s Dizzy’s Club Coca Cola, Dream Downtown Hotel and restaurateur Danny Meyer’s Maialino restaurants.
Belinda Daniel joins the Dallas Marriott Las Colinas as director of sales for the hotel in Irving, Texas. Most recently, she was business travel & leisure sales manager at the Radisson Hotel Fossil Creek in Fort Worth.
Dream Hotel Group appointed Kitmun Fung vice president of development, Asia Pacific, based in Singapore. Most recently she was director of development, Greater China, for Hilton Worldwide.
Douglas Maxwell Glen is now general manager at the Steigenberger Hotel Riverside in Bangkok. Most recently he was GM of The Landmark Bangkok.
Fontainebleau Miami Beach promoted Louis Gonzalez to director of Group Sales. He previously was assistant director of sales.
Davidson Hotels & Resorts and its lifestyle and luxury division, Pivot Hotels & Resorts, announced the appointments of Senior Vice President of Food & Beverage Greg Griffie, Senior Vice President of Design & Construction Kevin Filer, Vice President of Sales Vanessa Claspill and Director of Restaurant & Bar Development Garron Gore. Griffie’s previous roles include senior vice president, F&B, at Crescent Hotels & Resorts. Most recently, Filer was vice president of design and construction at Sage Hospitality. Claspill previously worked at Sydell Group as corporate director of sales. Gore worked at Hospitality Ventures Management Group where he was director of food & beverage innovation.
Ramona Hill was named general manager of the Hampton Inn Boulder Louisville in Colorado. Hill was most recently GM at the Courtyard in Longmont, Colorado.
Hyatt Regency Jacksonville (Florida) Riverfront hotel named two new members of the sales team: Josh Hoce is associate director of sales, and Laura Gonzalez Pena is the meeting connections/business travel sales manager. Hoce has previous hotel sales experience and also worked at Visit Jacksonville. Pena most recently worked at the Hyatt Regency Orlando, where she was business and leisure travel coordinator.
Sheraton Bay Point Resort in Florida hired Adam Mayo as director of operations. Most recently he was director of front office at Horseshoe Bay Resort in Austin, Texas.
PM Hotel Group promoted Fran Owen to regional director of sales and marketing. Previously, she was director of sales and marketing at the Hilton Knoxville.
Benchmark named Pete Page executive chef for Chaminade Resort & Spa in Santa Cruz, California. He previously was executive chef at Nopsi Hotel in New Orleans.
The St. Regis Atlanta appointed Antonio Palomares director of food & beverage. Most recently, Palomares was general manager of Los Fuegos and Living Room at Faena Hotel Miami Beach for a year before becoming F&B outlets director.
Proper Hospitality appointed Patrick Pahlke vice president of commercial; Steve Nolte director of hospitality; and Kaleo Adams corporate chef and executive chef of the future Proper Hotel in Santa Monica, California. Most recently, Pahlke worked at Two Roads Hospitality. Nolte joins Proper from Soho House, where he most recently was club manager. Adams was executive chef of the Beverly Hills Hilton.
Hard Rock International appointed Paul Pellizzari vice president of global social responsibility. In his previous role, Pellizzari led social responsibility at Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation.
Rockville, Maryland-based Choice Hotels International Inc. named Terri Ryan vice president of brand operations for Cambria Hotels. Most recently, she was senior vice president of hotel operations at Crestline Hotels & Resorts.
Mohegan Gaming & Entertainment appointed two new senior executive staff members: Michael Silberling is senior vice president and chief operating officer, and Tom Smock is senior vice president and general counsel. Prior to joining MGE, Silberling served as CEO for Affinity Gaming. Smock earlier was senior vice president and general counsel and compliance chair Las Vegas Sands’ Asian-based companies.
Gurney’s Resorts named Jaime Stuyck resort manager of Gurney’s Yacht Club & Resort in Montauk, New York. Kevin Maguire was named director of food & beverage at Gurney’s Newport Resort & Marina in Rhode Island. Stuyck’s background includes the Miami Beach Edition, and Maguire’s includes Enchantment Group.
Fairmont San Francisco named Jacco van Teeffelen hotel manager. He most recently was hotel manager at the Fairmont Grand Del Mar.
Grand Fiesta Americana Coral Beach Cancun announced Raúl Villagrán as the resort’s new director of sales and marketing. Most recently, he was director of sales and marketing at an all-inclusive resort in the Bahamas.
Geoff Young was named managing director for Benchmark’s Lake Arrowhead Resort and Spa in California. Young previously was managing director of Benchmark’s Snow King Resort Hotel & Condos of Jackson, Wyoming.
