People on the move: Week of June 11, 2018

Hilton appointed Vera Manoukian senior vice president and global head, Hilton Hotels & Resorts. Manoukian will oversee the brand portfolio for the firm and will be responsible for promoting, elevating and growing the brand.

Manoukian, who has more than 30 years of hospitality experience, most recently was president and chief operating officer at Denihan Hospitality where she led branding, sales, marketing and operations, and managed the company’s growth and development pipeline. She also previously served as senior vice preside of operations for Starwood where she was responsible for their largest geographic region, seven brands, 68 full-service and luxury properties, and US$3.4 billion in revenue.

Four Seasons Hotel Amman promoted Saa’d Al Fawadleh to executive chef, making him the first Jordanian in the position at the Amman, Jordan property. Al Fawadleh has been with Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts since 2014 when he joined Four Seasons Resort Lanai in Lanai City, Hawaii as sous chef.

Dimension Development appointed David Barnett director of sales and marketing at Hyatt Regency Westlake in Westlake Village, California. Barnett most recently was director of sales and marketing with OLS Hotels & Resorts. 

Associated Luxury Hotels International appointed Shelley Bartle-Reed director of sales in Toronto, Canada and Myra Howay as director of sales in San Francisco. Prior to joining the company, Bartle-Reed was global account director for Starwood Hotels & Resorts while Howay joined from Silverado Resort & Spa in Napa, California where she was director of technology sales. 

The Maven Hotel at Dairy Block in Denver named Kelly Beres director of operations. Beres had been club and spa director at The Oxford Club, Spa & Salon in Denver, which is also managed by Sage Hospitality. 

Benchmark named Eileen Cole director of sales and marketing for Eaglewood Resort & Spa, a Benchmark Resorts & Hotels property in Itasca, Illinois. Cole most recently was vice president of sales and marketing for The Bricton Group of Mt. Prospect, Illinois. 

Bodega Bay Lodge in Bodega Bay, California named Chris Costas general manager. Costas hails from Austin where he was hotel manager at The Westin Austin Downtown.

Chesapeake Hospitality in Greenbelt, Maryland named Stacy Duncan director of IT and Gary Sams director of construction. Duncan was IT director for A&A Global Industries while Sams came from IDC Construction where he was director of pre-construction and estimating. 

Sage Hospitality appointed Caryn Granzow director of sales and marketing of The Blackstone in Chicago. Granzow, who has held a variety of sales leadership roles in the Chicago market, formerly was director of sales and marketing at Doubletree Chicago Magnificent Mile. 

Dan Fernandez joined Concord Hospitality as vice president of digital marketing. Prior to joining Concord, Fernandez spent eight years leading Cendyn’s digital marketing division. 

Wynn Resorts appointed Erik Hansen as the company’s first chief sustainability officer, responsible for developing the firm’s global sustainability strategy and energy procurement goals. Hansen had been director of energy procurement for Wynn Resorts since 2016. 

The Resort at Pelican Hill in Newport Coast, California appointed Simaan Hawa director of sales and Jean Schulte director of incentive sales. Hawa returns to Pelican Hill after serving as director of sales for Monarch Beach Resort in Dana Point, California while Schulte had been in global sales for Montage International and previously for Preferred Hotels & Resorts.

Montage Hotels & Resorts appointed Casey Lavin general manager of Montage Palmetto Bluff in Bluffton, South Carolina. Lavin had been vice president of operations and general manager at The Sea Island Company in Sea Island, Georgia. 

Agus Mahardana joined the Four Points by Sheraton Bali, Kuta in Bali, Indonesia as marketing communications manager. He previously worked at the Bali Dynasty Resort & Menjangan Dynasty Resort, also in Bali.

Kimpton Solamar Hotel in San Diego named Lisa Martinez conference services manager and Cassaundra Williams sales manager. Martinez comes to the property from Town & Country San Diego where she spent two years as convention services manager. Williams most recently was sales manager at Park Hyatt Aviara Resort & Spa in Carlsbad, California. 

Fairmont San Jose named Dan McGowan general manager of the San Jose, California hotel. McGowan comes from Dallas where had been general manager of Fairmont Dallas since 2015. 

Trish Owen was named director of sales and marketing for Hotel Vitale, a Joie de Vivre hotel in San Francisco. Owen comes to the property from Hotel Shattuck Plaza, a boutique hotel in Berkeley, California, where she was the director of sales and marketing.

 

Goldmoor Inn in Galena, Illinois appointed Joshua Roberts to lead its culinary operations as executive chef. He most recently served as executive chef for McCormick & Schmick’s in Oakbrook, Illinois.

Aimbridge Hospitality promoted Lynne Roberts to executive vice president of capital markets. Roberts previously was senior vice president of development and capital markets at Aimbridge. 

RLH Corporation appointed Gary Sims executive vice president and chief operating officer. Sims joined the company from Omni La Costa Resort & Spa in Carlsbad, California where he was managing director.

Paradisus by Meliá named Kaushal Singh Rana specialty chef at their Paradisus Playa del Carmen, Mexico property. In his previous position, he served as the chef of specialties at the Moon Palace Golf Spa & Resorts in Cancun, Mexico.

Hotel Emma, a luxury boutique hotel in San Antonio, named Beth Smith vice president of sales and marketing. Smith joined Hotel Emma in 2014, just shy of two years prior to the hotel’s opening, and worked to expand the property’s brand awareness.

Jessica Stephens is now director of sales and marketing at Hyatt Regency Bloomington-Minneapolis in Bloomington, Minnesota. Stephens, a Minnesota native, had been director of sales and marketing at Crowne Plaza Northstar – Downtown Minneapolis. 

Mark Waller became executive assistant manager at Halekulani in Honolulu. Waller most recently had been director of rooms for the Four Seasons Hotel Silicon Valley in East Palo Alto, California.

Marriott International appointed Michael Wlodkowski general manager of The Westin New York at Times Square in New York City. He is returning to New York after an almost 20-year run in California, most recently as the hotel manager of the JW Marriott L.A. Live in Lost Angeles.
