Five minutes, five hours or five days?

What do you do when something upsets you? Perhaps it is an unusual or unreasonable request from a colleague or a client. Maybe you received news that the group you were looking to contract won’t be able to make their decision until next quarter. Does your computer crash in the middle of an urgent email?

How do you handle these things?

A friend recently suggested that she asks herself, “will this still bother me in five minutes?” “Will it continue to upset me or change my mood in five hours?” “Will it still be upsetting in five days?”
