Briefs: Dalata doubles down | Two in Peru for Tapestry

Dalata in U.K.: Dalata Hotel Group of Dublin signed agreements to lease two new hotels totaling 580 rooms to be built in the U.K. A Clayton Hotel is planned for Bristol, to be developed by Artisan Real Estate Investors Limited, and a Maldron Hotel is planned for Birmingham, to be developed by McAleer & Rushe. Hilton signs two in Peru: Hilton signed the first two international Tapestry Collection by Hilton agreements, in Lima, Peru: Hotel Bel’Arte Lima, opening in 2021 in the financial district, and Hotel Museo de Osma, also opening in 2021, in the city’s De Osma mixed-use development.

 


Hotel Equities in Texas: Atlanta-based Hotel Equities added four new-build hotels in Texas: a Tru by Hilton in Cypress, Home2Suites by Hilton in Richmond, Holiday Inn Express in Katy and a La Quinta Inn & Suites in Spring. They are owned and being developed by Noble Merchant Properties of Sugarland. Three are under construction; the Holiday Inn Express will break ground in 2019.

 


Kushner back in N.J.: Real estate developer Kushner Companies acquired the Bungalow Hotel, a boutique in Long Branch, New Jersey, according to NJ.com. The company’s former CEO is President Trump son-in-law Jared Kushner. The hotel is located within a mixed-use area owned by the companies. The purchase price was not disclosed.

 


Chinese neighbors in Trump Indonesia deal: The Trump Organization’s partner in an Indonesian development including a hotel and golf course, MNC Group, struck a deal with the state-owned Metallurgical Corporation of China to build a theme park next door to the properties. The New York Times dissects the awkward timing of the deal.
