Briefs: IHG signs Hotel Indigo Venice | Chicago hotel revenue falls

It is the third Hotel Indigo to be signed in Italy and will operate under a franchise agreement with H.n.H. Hotels & Resorts S.p.A. Chicago hotel revenue falls: Downtown Chicago hotels have had a second down year in a row after an extended post-recession recovery. Weighed down by new supply that hit the market in 2017, revenue per available room at downtown hotels through November fell 2.6% year-over-year to US$156.52, according to data from STR. The decrease comes despite a projection last fall by Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel that the city was on track to post another record year for tourism, with about a million more visitors to the city than in 2016.
