The restoration of England’s 350-year-old Cliveden House includes a very modern update of its spa space.
The multimillion-pound renovation – the hotel declined to give exact numbers – of the country house was done by Formation Architects.
The centerpiece of the spa, which is linked to the house within covered walkway and a walled garden, is the outdoor swimming pool (at which Christine Keeler met British M.P. John Profumo, an event that led to an international scandal and Profumo’s resignation).
The spa includes a gym, indoor heated pool, infrafred sauna, aromatherapy steam room, indoor Jacuzzi, outdoor hot tubs, seven treatment rooms, and a manicure, pedicure and hair-dressing studio.
The spa also includes a restaurant with views over the garden and outdoor dining. The estate is surrounded by 376 acres of National Trust gardens; the building itself is owned by the National trust and operated under a long-lease arrangement by the owners, Iconic Luxury.
