Briefs: Another London record | Nhow in Frankfurt

London numbers: U.K. hotels saw record-setting occupancy, ADR and RevPAR in 1H 2017, according to STR: Compared with the first six months of 2016, occupancy was up 1.7% to an actual level of 75.1%, ADR increased 4.7% to £89.33 (US$116.18), and RevPAR rose 6.5% to £67.12 (US$87.29). A devaluation in the pound and an increase in international visitors and their spending were cited as driving the growth.

 


Nhow in Frankfurt: Spain’s NH Hotel Group plans to open a Nhow hotel in the exhibition center of Frankfurt’s Europaviertel in early 2021. Designed by Frankfurt architecture firm Meurer Generalplaner, the 375-room, 3-star hotel will be in the lower half of a high-rise.

 


Crown employees released: Crown Resorts Limited released a brief statement saying that the last of the 19 current and former Crown employees detained in China have been released. The employees were detained in October and sentenced in June for crimes related to casino gambling, which is banned in China.

 


Crestline in D.C.: Crestline Hotels & Resorts will manage a dual-branded hotel project at Columbia Place in Washington D.C.’s Shaw neighborhood. Slated to open in the third quarter of 2018, the mixed-use project will include a new 357-room Courtyard and a 147-suite Residence Inn.

 


Atlific in Toronto: Montreal-based Atlific Hotels is now managing the 395-room Westin Prince Toronto Hotel in the city’s York Mills neighborhood.
