Expedia fights fraud: Expedia urged a California federal court on Monday to trim a proposed class action that claims it lures in customers with false advertisements and then diverts them to make reservations at hotels where Expedia gets a cut of the booking, arguing that specific evidence of fraud is needed.

Plaza in hot water?: Six women who worked as cocktail servers, bartenders and hostesses at The Plaza alleged in a suit filed Tuesday that they endured a “permissive and toxic culture in which women are routinely treated as sexual objects.” The suit says a “rape culture” exists at the hotel and in its ornate bar, the Palm Court, and women who complain of mistreatment face retaliation.

Trump Jupiter pushes back: The Trump National Golf Club Jupiter in Florida pleaded with the Eleventh Circuit on Monday to reverse a ruling ordering it to refund roughly US$5.7 million to members who had resigned from the club before Trump’s 2012 purchase, saying the club complied with its membership agreements by placing these people on a refund waiting list.
