Scion sees delays: The opening of Trump Hotels’ first Scion-branded hotel, in Cleveland, Mississippi, is being delayed until spring 2018 to address design changes requested by company executives, Bloomberg reported. The changes require new construction permits for the US$20 million hotel.

Airbnb to file complaint: Home-sharing site Airbnb is expected today to file a formal complaint with a New York state ethics panel. The complaint seeks to investigate a coalition, ShareBetter, that Airbnb says is lobbying illegally.

Jumeirah to debut in Makkah: Dubai-based Jumeirah Group will operate its first hotel in Saudi Arabia. The 1,033-room Jabal Omar Jumeirah Makkah Hotel is slated to open in 2019 within walking distance of the city’s Grand Mosque.

Golden Horse golf: Chinese property development firm Golden Horse signed an agreement with AccorHotels to manage a 150-room, US$60 million property under its Swissotel brand. The hotel will be next to the Links Hope Island Golf Course in Australia’s Gold Coast. It’s the area’s first luxury hotel in more than 30 years.

Intrawest deal moves forward: The proposed deal by Aspen Skiing Co. and KSL Capital Partners to buy California’s Mammoth Mountain and Intrawest’s six ski resorts passed a federal antitrust deadline, clearing another hurdle for the merger to take place.

Dayan completes hotel purchase: The Dayan family of Israel, which bought four hotels from Africa-Israel Investments for NIS 524 million earlier this year, is taking full ownership of the whole company for another NIS 413 million. Africa-Israel, which operates, leases and owns hotels including the Crowne Plaza and Holiday Inn brands, is owned in equal shares by Africa-Israel Investments and Netz Group Ltd.
