Delta Hotels: Marriott International said it intends to double the size of its Delta Hotels by Marriott brand in the next two years. Delta, which the company acquired in 2015, has 40 open properties in Canada and 20 in the pipeline, including in Asia and the U.S.

W: W Hotels is turning the Sky Hotel in Aspen, Colorado, into the W Aspen, which will have 88 rooms, six suites and 11 branded residences. Northridge Capital LLC and developer Sarpa Development are partnering on the project.

Anbang: The head of China’s Anbang Insurance Group has been detained by Chinese authorities, news outlets reported. According to the company, Chairman Wu Xiaohui was stepping aside and would not be able to fulfill his duties for “personal reasons.” The company purchased New York’s Waldorf Astoria in 2015.
