Airbnb Miami: Miami-Dade Mayor Carlos Gimenez has reached an agreement with home-sharing platform Airbnb to collect county resort taxes. Under the agreement, Airbnb will collect the 6% Miami-Dade resort tax from its hosts and remit that money to the county every month.

Auckland luxury hotel: A luxury hotel with rooftop bar and high-end eateries is planned for the last remaining waterfront site in downtown Auckland, New Zealand. Viaduct Harbour Holdings Limited plans to build a 165-room hotel, One Market Square, which will face the sea on two sides.

Disney: Two Florida subsidiaries of Walt Disney can’t charge the actors who dress up as characters for their costumes if the workers’ hourly pay goes below minimum wage, the U.S. Labor Department has ruled. Disney agreed to provide US$3.8 million in back wages to 16,339 employees at the two units — Disney Vacation Club Management Corp. and Walt Disney Parks and Resorts U.S. Inc. — after U.S. officials found violations regarding minimum wage, overtime and record-keeping.

New Jivavisitnon hotel: The Jivavisitnon family will open a luxury hotel on Patong Beach, its third hotel property in Phuket. Pobchai Jivavisitnon, owner and managing director of Novotel Phuket Resort and Novotel Phuket Vintage Park, said the new project had been registered under Ocean Wing Co. The 5-star hotel will have about 239 rooms and is expected to open at the end of next year or early in 2019.
