Located in the first eight floors of the city’s A’dam Toren tower, the 108-room boutique hotel was designed by New York-based design studio ICRAVE with a focus on music and art. All guest rooms and the singular suite are equipped with Bluetooth-enabled Crosley record players and a collection of vinyl, in addition to a Gibson guitar. Bikes are also available to borrow for guests interested in attending local live music.

In line with the original structure of the tower, raw concrete pillars and exposed ceilings frame the hotel’s interiors. Floor-to-ceiling windows hold floating desks and window benches are situated to give guests panoramic views of the city’s skyline.

In place of a traditional lobby, the hotel has The Hub, a co-working space-meets-concept store where guests can listen to vinyl. Sir Adam’s restaurant, the Butcher Social Club, is a burger joint set in a casual living room environment located on the ground floor. The space includes a large island bar and riverside terrace, which hosts regular live performances and nightly DJ sets.

SIR, managed by the privately owned group Europe Hotels Private Collection, launched in Amsterdam in 2013 with Sir Albert in the popular De Pijp neighbourhood. Sir Savigny, in Berlin, followed in late 2016. The Sir Adam is the second SIR hotel in Amsterdam and the third in the collection. Two additional locations are set to open in 2017, including Sir Nikolai in Hamburg in the spring and Sir Joan in Ibiza by summer.
